In every one of our academies a vast number of after- academy enrichment activities take place each week. Students are provided with opportunities to add depth to their learning and develop personal skills through a rich and varied enrichment programme.

The Design and Technology course at Key Stage 3, provides students with the necessary skills and knowledge to access the various routes available at Key Stage 4. It also provides an awesome environment for students to learn through the practical application, allowing for creative solutions to real, complex problems. Fundamentally, Year 7 and 8 projects allow students to access and refine the skills needed to study at Key Stage 4.

At Key Stage 4 we offer Design and Technology GCSE (9-1) – through the Edexcel DT specification and Hospitality and Catering Level 1/2 award – through the Eduqas specification.
Design and Technology is assessed in the following way:
NEA (non-exam assessment) – 50%
External Examination – 50%
Hospitality and Catering is assessed in the following way:
NEA (non-exam assessment) – 60%
External Examination – 40%
