Geography – Key Stage 3

The Geography course at Key Stage 3 provides students with the necessary skills and knowledge to access the AQA GCSE course in Key Stage 4. The Year 7 course looks at where places are across the world, helping students understand map skills, and looking at different countries, like Japan and Kenya, in more detail. The Year 8 course prepares students for GCSE by looking at development, ecosystems, energy and impossible places. As wells as looking at Africa and the world’s superpowers in more detail.

Examination 100%

  • Living with the physical world (35%)
  • Challenges in the human environment (35%)
  • Geographical applications (30%)

Key Stage 5

AQA GCE A Level Geography

Component 1: Physical Geography: Water & Carbon Cycles, Coastal systems and landscapes, Hazards.
Component 2: Human Geography: Global systems and governance, Changing places, Resource security.
Component 3: physical and human examined fieldwork.
