Vice Principal - DEEP Experience - Head of Sixth Form.
After completing my degree in 2007 I spent two years working in schools, and working for the Educational Psychology Service in Scotland. Although I found this work rewarding I knew I wanted to be a fully qualified teacher. Therefore, in 2009 I embarked upon the Teach First teacher training programme based at a challenging school in Sheffield. I spent three enjoyable years there as a Teacher of English and Literacy Coordinator, before moving on to Outwood Academy Portland as Second in Faculty (English). In my second year at OAP I applied for an Assistant Principal post and swiftly moved to Outwood Academy Newbold, where we have worked to improve standards, and outcomes for students. As Vice Principal I now work at developing the curriculum for students from Y7-Y13 to ensure students have a seamless experience and ensure that pathways chosen are appropriate for each student to enable them to succeed. Alongside this role I am also strategic lead of Sixth Form, again a position i value as I get support students going on to the next stage of their lives.
