September 2020 - Update
As not all students currently have access to the Library, we have set up a ‘Library book request form’ in Google Classrooms – classroom code g5d2yi5
Students can request books, which will be delivered to their English lesson. Please return library books via English teachers.
We are very proud of the Library at Outwood Academy Newbold. It provides an excellent resource for students and staff with over 12000 books as well as magazines, newspapers and computers.
Every student in school is a member of the Library and we encourage everyone to regularly borrow books, recognising the strong links between reading and attainment.
We run reading groups, work with local primary schools, shadow book awards and organise reading themed events.
The library is open every day, with qualified staff on hand to offer guidance. Students are welcome to use the Library at breaks, lunchtimes and before school from 8am.
We also offer a full programme of Enrichment after school.
All students in Year 7 and 8 (and some in Year 9) participate in the Accelerated Reader reading scheme. More details about the scheme can be found in the attached presentation (link below).
Students can log in to take quizzes on books they have read by following the link below:
For username or password queries please contact the Library.
You can now access a full list of all of the books and resources we have in the Library by following this link: Online Book list
If there is a particular book or resource you would like to borrow please come into the Library and we will help you find it.
Under ‘Quick Lists’ you can see what books we have on each of the Accelerated Reader levels.
If you have any queries or would like to come into school to visit the Library please contact us: (01246) 230550 ext. 134.
